| | Colleen Mitchell Veyna has painted close to 80 murals in California, Oregon, Washington and Arizona. Colleen became interested in art at a young age when her great-uncle, a political cartoonist, would draw for her. At the age of 9, she started taking lessons from artist Wava Meyers. Her paintings of people and animals are vivid, life-like, and tell a story. Colleen will be showing her work at the Creative Center's Jon Ginsburg gallery in a show called "People and Places Close to My Heart," January 14 through April 16. She will also be presenting a special lecture on January 14 at 5:30 at the Creative Center: "Murals from Concept to Finish." The show and lecture are free to the public, for more information contact Teresa Douglass at 733-9329. Colleen can be reached by email at colleenveyna@comcast.net or by phone 559-730-1918.
