Rosalinda Verde
I started singing when I was three years old. I've always loved being on stage and I sang all the way through high school. I sang at Green Acres and Redwood High School in both choir and the musicals. I sang at county fairs, weddings, talent shows...so when I went to college I chose music as my major, thinking I would still  be able to wear sparkly outfits and dance around on stage. I quickly learned that a music major consists of a classical music education so I had to hang up my cowboy boots and put away the glitter. I attended Pt. Loma University and sang under the direction of Dr. Dan Jackson, who was previously Mt. Whitney's phenomenal choir director here in Visalia. My voice teacher introduced me to classical music and labeled me a "mezzo-soprano". At first I was leary of classical music and opera but I fell in love with it when I was invited to join the San Diego Opera company as a chorus member.
