|  | The band Mezcal is a local favorite - not only because of their upbeat music, but also because of their involvement with the community! Consortium member Rosalinda Verde recently conducted a Q&A with this popular group.
 Q: Who is Mezcal? A: Mezcal consists of Carlos Rodriguez-guitar/vocals/percussion, Estevan Rodriguez-congas, Marisa Rodriguez-Timbales/drums, Alejo Delgado-Bass/vocals, Richard Juarez-Drums, Ian Garoian-Keyboards and Omar Nare-Keyboards/Vocals
Q: What kind of music does Mezcal play? A: Mezcal plays high energy latin music. Mezcal goes well with chips and salsa or straight out of the bottle, this band guarantees a funky good time. The group blends cumbia, jazz, rock and soul music together for your dancing pleasure.
Q: Where has Mezcal performed? A:Mezcal has performed all over the U.S. and was featured on Fox's "NEXT GREAT AMERICAN BAND". They've shared the stage with artists like, Poncho Sanchez, Pete Escovedo, War, Brenton Wood, Malo and other exciting latin greats. The band is proud to call Visalia home and plays often downtown or at outdoor festivals in the valley.
Mezcal has been together for over 7 years, however some members have been performing with each other since their teens. "We are all family and continue putting up with one another through the years because we have no choice, we really can't get a divorce, because we're related, " explains Carlos Rodriguez. "Inspiration comes at us from everywhere, I think people are our fuel. We thrive off the attention and energy that our MEZCALEROS produce."
